Today's release primarily cleans up a few items, adds one piece of key functionality for some waste water plants, and enables some administrative functionality for the Waterly team.

Updates

Just to be Sure...

A few of our users out there have helped us to test features in our testing environment in the past.  Unfortunately, this sometimes led to some confusion as to which version of the application they were using.  We've added a handy banner at the top of the page to remind you if you happen to be in the wrong place.  Most of you will never see this, but now you'll know what it is just in case you do:

You're So Mean

Well, Geometric Mean, that is.  (Sorry for the average math pun there).   Waterly has always supported calculating arithmetic averages for gathered metrics, but, for some of our customers, especially in waste water settings, a geometric mean is required.  Starting today, you can choose that option when editing a metric's settings:

On reports, for metric where the Geometric Mean option is selected, an annotation will be added to the averaged result and a footnote will be added to the report indicating that the given average is a Geometric Mean.

NOTE: We are working with customers and regulatory agencies to determine the best way to handle cases of "0.00" entries as part of the mean.  Currently, Waterly will calculate these values just like Excel does with its GEOMEAN function, although some regulatory bodies may handle this differently with values beneath a threshold.  Please reach out to support if you have specific questions here, we'd love your input.

Renaming Sites

Unfortunately, we discovered that this was not working properly in our last release.  This is now fixed.

Thank you

We will use this space to update notes on the software if needed.

As always, we are grateful for all of our water and wastewater superheroes that we get to work with every day.  We hope you enjoy the new features, but as always, we welcome your suggestions, comments, and complaints.  The future of Waterly is driven by your input, so please keep the feedback coming by support ticket, phone call, email, or carrier pigeon.
