Today's release adds an often-requested feature to simplify the occasionally needed edit to a calculated value.

Updates

When the Machines Start to Take Over...

Waterly customers sometimes encounter situations where a built-in calculation does not represent the operations of their plant on a given day. It can just make sense to update the value to reflect reality, leave a comment on the day indicating what was going on, and then move on.  In the past, calculated values in Waterly could not be changed directly.  With today's release, we're making a change to that rule.

Warning!
This is a feature that we suggest most operators use sparingly, but we do recognize the importance of allowing operators to be flexible amidst the reality of day-to-day operations.  If you find that your plants are using this feature on a regular basis, please feel free to reach out to our support team so that we can help consider ways to avoid these kinds of edits.

The visual for a calculated field has been updated slightly, it is more like what we see with WaterlyConnect metrics.  A small icon appears indicating which fields are calculated:

The big difference is that now you are free to change those values if you wish, right from the data entry screen!

Also, if a field has been edited away from the originally calculated value, it is noted just below the field.  In case changing it was a mistake, or you'd like to undo the change, you can always click the Restore button to automatically put the field value back the way it was:

Thank you

We will use this space to update notes on the software if needed.

As always, we are grateful for all of our water and wastewater superheroes that we get to work with every day.  We hope you enjoy the new features, but as always, we welcome your suggestions, comments, and complaints.  The future of Waterly is driven by your input, so please keep the feedback coming by support ticket, phone call, email, or carrier pigeon.
