Background

Most water systems have to report on details on bacterial (BacT) tests.  For some smaller systems, that means they need to indicate the date of the month that they submit samples for testing.  In Waterly’s early years, we used to have a drop-down for an operator to select the (single) date BacT sample(s) were taken and sent in for tests.  After Waterly started adding other states and larger systems, it became clear that the single date section box wouldn’t work, so we removed it.  We talked with regulators in a few states and realized that BacT samples could be represented more easily for ALL SIZES of utilities by allowing operators to put BacT information in the Notes/Comments/Remarks section of their daily reports.  


Solution

You can use your Notes field to indicate BacT testing.  As long as that field is selected to be shown on your monthly report, it will show up on your monthly operating report as well.  Using the notes field will allow you to indicate more than one date each month in which your BacTs were sent in.


Typing something similar to “BacT sent” will result in your report looking something like this:
