Background

Waterly often (not always) will configure metrics with the normal operating ranges for metrics.  However, we know that you know your plants and facilities better than we do, so if you have Supervisor or Organization Admin privileges, you can change these ranges to be something that makes better sense for you.  As a Supervisor, you can also Archive (or Hide) metrics, components, or processes yourself without worrying about deleting data.

In this article, we'll cover:

  1. Site Edit Mode
  2. Changing the Range of Metrics & # of decimal places
  3. Archiving Items
  4. Demo video of the process.

Entering Edit Site Mode

You'll need to be in the Edit Site mode to make all of the changes in this article.  To be in Site Edit mode, you need to be a supervisor or above.

  1. While in the Site, click the Three Vertical Dots in the upper-right corner and select Enter Edit Mode:

Changing the Range or the # of Decimal Places

  1. Once in Edit mode, you can move processes, components, and metrics around using the up and down arrows, as well as archive metrics you don't use, but you'll want to click the pencil icon next to the metric to change its min and max ranges like shown below.
  2. You can either change the number of decimal places using the up/down arrow in the Decimal Places box, or just typing the number in the box.
  3. You can also change the Range Min and Range max by updating the numbers there (we support negative numbers too).
  4. Just remember to click the Save button at the bottom of the Edit Metric box, then click Exit Edit Mode at the top of the screen when you're done.

Archiving (Hiding) Items - Metrics, Components, and Processes

Supervisors can also archive (hide) most of the items in Waterly.  The following will walk you through how to archive Processes, Components, or Metrics.

Note: Archiving any object does NOT delete or remove any data, it only removes the ability to enter data.  You can also report on metrics that have been archived.  Users of Waterly CANNOT DELETE DATA using the archive tool.  It just hides it from data entry and disables any related metrics.

Once you are in Edit Site Mode, you can click the archive button from any object:

...and you will have to confirm, then the object will be Archived.  Here is where the Archive Process and Archive Component Icons are:

And here in the Edit Metric area (you'll have to click the pencil icon next to the metric to see this screen), you'll see the Archive button towards the bottom left:
