Background

This article will be welcomed by the Administrators of multiple system groups on Waterly. While some features are helpful to most users, the main function of this dashboard is to provide easy access to multiple systems administered by large Utilities. This allows the Administrator/Supervisor to adjust multiple settings in one dashboard instead of navigating to each unique system. This makes this process more efficient whether adjusting one system or multiple systems. As in most cases, functionality depends upon the level of permissions that have been assigned to you by your system administrator.

Accessing The Organizational Settings

Let’s review the Organizational Administration Dashboard stepping through the different roles:

Upon logging in, navigate to the lower left-hand corner of the screen to the gear symbol to access the settings menu as seen below.

Administrators

For the Administrator, the Organizational Dashboard will display all the organizations to which they belong (as seen below). From this point, selecting an Organization will navigate the user to a unique Systems Group. Administrators within a single role organization will be redirected to the System settings for their assigned system.

Non-Administrators

These users will see all the organizations to which they have access. This is for reference as the organization names will be unnavigable. The links will be displayed as text only, not a blue link.

System Group Navigation

From this Dashboard, the users with Administrator permissions may select an organization and display all the associated system groups and unique systems in a collapsible tree view format. We will discuss the "Systems" section later in the article. For now, let's take a closer look at the functions available within the "System Group" dashboard.

An Administrator may rename the system group by clicking the pencil icon next to the name, add a system group, or add a unique system to the system group.

By selecting a System Group, in this case "Demo City", the Administrator can view the Users and their assigned roles for that system group. From this display the Administrator can add, remove, and update users and their roles within a system group.

A User may be assigned to a system group with the following roles:

  • No Access: The user belongs to the organization but functionally has no access.
  • Read Only: The user has Read Only access to any system assigned to their system group or a unique system.
  • Editor: The user has Operator access to any system assigned to their system group or a unique system group.
  • Supervisor: The user has Supervisor access to any system assigned to their system group or a unique system group.
  • Admin: The user has Supervisor access to any system assigned to their system group. The user may also view the System Settings page and add/update/remove users on their system group.

User Information

The dashboard also gives quick access to details about specific users. By selecting the pencil icon for any user, a new screen will open.

This screen will allow the Administrator to edit the User's name, add licenses, and phone numbers to their profile. These changes will then be adjusted systemwide for that User. The dashboard also displays all of the User's system permissions, the systems they have been added to as a User, as well as the role they have been assigned in that system.

Unique System Sites

Now we will discuss the "System", here displayed as, "Demo City Wastewater" and "Demo City Water". These are unique system sites and each has it's own settings, users, and permissions. Upon selecting a unique system from the list, a new screen will open.

In this dashboard, the Administrator has access to adjust all the system settings as would be performed on the site itself. These include selecting a supervisor, adding, editing, or removing users and roles.

In the illustration below, Demo City Wastewater was selected on the Organizational Dashboard. The new screen allows the Administrator to see details of that unique system and edit those details. From here, an Administrator can see who has been assigned permissions for this site. In this case, no Users have been added to this system. By clicking "Invite User",  the Administrator can invite other Users and assign permissions.

To navigate back to the Organizational Administration Dashboard, click the back arrow in the browser window.

Note: If a system displays a plus sign “+”, that system is its own unique group. By selecting the plus sign, the unique systems associated with that group will be displayed below it. If a plus sign is not displayed, the name displayed is the unique system.

Overview

This brief overview of the Organizational Administration Dashboard has been provided to give users a working introduction to this function. From this dashboard the Administrator can access the detail for each of their systems in one location. From here users to be invited, permissions and profiles edited, or removed quickly across the system group or specific systems. This dashboard will make the process of managing systems quick and efficient. The video below will step through the details of using the dashboard.
